Our Mission

Our mission is to develop purpose and character in young girls and boys ages 9-18 who are impacted by socio-economic risks. Through Mentoring, we address Life Skills Training, Education, Economic Development, Crime, Family and Financial Literacy, Entrepreneurship. We provide guidance, through supportive mentoring relationships,

Prevention programs that channel their talents and energies into constructive, skill building activities.

Our founders saw a need to address the immediate and long range needs of at risk teens as well as their families. They saw a hole in the system that needed to be filled. There was an increasing number of girls that were not being served by any other agency, thus Afri-Female Institute Inc. was born

Afri-Female Institute Inc. now has two locations, one in Burlington County, New Jersey, and the other in Kent County, DE.

Through forming nurturing, trusting relationships, and involving them in meaningful, personal and community activities, they will improve their skills, self-esteem and the ability to pursue safe, healthy, happy lives. That is our mission. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) agency that was established in 1998.

There are so many ways that we help troubled teenagers, but the goal, ultimately, is to help girls and boys become responsible and caring citizens.
